Now recently I have listened to a few new riddims that have featured a slew of tracks on them that I rate. I was going to do single reviews for the artistes which I felt where not being promoted as often or as hard as other artistes. But it was getting to a point for which I was starting to like more and more singles on a riddim that it was just a natural progression to create this latest section.
WILD BUBBLE SHOT! First and foremost, this riddim version gets me too excited in life. I listened to a riddim mix on YouTube when I first heard the title of ZJ Chrome‘s latest riddim production and I tell you I was sold off that riddim in the first 15 seconds – NO LIE! I finished the 15 min or less, riddim mix and immediately started finding the singles to listen to individually. I was immediately sold off on Voicemail‘s tune ‘Wild Bubble‘ – all this good bubbling music slap weh (means ‘is really good’ for those non-patios speakers) – I will say the melody that Voicemail used on their record sweets me beyond any description I can creatively write here on this page. I truly love that record.
I will say I was rather nervous to see that Kartel had a tune on this riddim. With his incarceration, not being able to promote himself, and record as often as he would like I wasn’t too sure what quality the record would be. But Jah know I was too excited and pleasantly surprised to hear his record with Gaza Slim, entitled ‘Can’t Do Without Me‘. I am a true groupie for Konshens and would NOT mind him “acting out his pervert thoughts” pon mi – but that’s just me. His record on the riddim is entitled ‘On Your Face‘. I have been a true Aidonia fan in 2012 – almost every tune that he has released this year I have been a fan of – the ‘Jook So’ record is no different. LOVE THAT TUNE!
I think I have become a fan of Blak Diamon in the last few months as he has released some pretty solid tunes. He has made a truly large splash in the international ocean that is Caribbean music but I do rate his tune ‘The Weekend‘ highly on this riddim. I must say that Tifa has also come into her own as a female deejay, I have followed her since she first entered the mainstream in 2007/2008. Her tune on the riddim ‘Show Me Di Bubble‘ is a song I could see myself bussing a sweet wine too ;-D. Finally, one of my many reggae boyfriends, Popcaan, rounds out my favourites on the riddim with ‘Food Haffi Run‘ – the message of that record is very profound to me and although the riddim has a nice bounce to it, and for Popcaan to ride it with those particular lyrics was commendable for me.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the sounds of the tunes featured on the Wild Bubble Riddim produced by ZJ Chrome. The riddim mix was done by @DJ_Kaos of Adrenalin Sounds. Check out his other mixes via #SoundCloud or #PodOmatic and be sure to follow him on Twitter to find out when he releases new mixes.
